In 2025, Healdsburg’s Senior Advisory Commission and its City Council both
adopted the creation of an end of life resource center as a goal for the year. A
small community based team worked together to clarify needs, determine
existing community resources that could be mobilized and created a
program scope and program profile to attend to end of life needs when the
time comes for planning, support, and healing.

The When The Time Comes program seeks to be a reliable community
resource, offering information, resources and connection to essential
services whether the time has come for planning, for practical support or for
grieving and moving forward with life after the death of someone you love.

Monthly “Death Curious” workshops offer short and practical learning
workshops. Office Hours are available to meet with a Compassion
Coordinator who can assist with identifying needed support and resources.
An informal discussion group, “Dying to Talk About It” offers a space to come
and share whatever is on your heart and mind.

Everyone deserves peace of mind now, and when the time comes.
This program exists through the generous support of community members
